Bradyn Busche 12 September 2012 Mrs. Dawn Diprince English 101- Précis Chap. 6 in ‘Choices’ In this article entitled, “Slaves, Cannibals, and Infected Hyper-Whites:The Race and Religion of Zombies” (2012), Elizabeth McAlister demonstrates the renewed interest in zombie films due to zombies embezzlement of the mind with deeply symbolic structures that are a matter of ration and irrational thinking. It refers to popular horror films of today's society such as "Night of the Living Dead" "The Walking Dead" "Dawn of the Dead" "28 Days Later" and books such as "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"(2009). McAlister shows the readers the allegory of zombies and the current events taking place. Her purpose is to show the symbolism behind the constantly seen zombie films of today's times. This, of course, is in order to allow the readers to understand all symbols located within the plot, story, characters, and sub meanings within the film. Her audience is a base of horror film viewers trying to fully understand films and all their rhetoric.
