Bradyn Busche ENG101- Dawn Diprince 10-18-12 MWP #2 Intro If we could vote for the Presidential Election right now instead of in a month, who would win? This article entitled “Why Obama is Winning, ” By Ross Douthat states that Obama would win, but that may not be the case in a month. Douthat states the victor of the Presidential Election in 2012 will be determined by the unemployment rate, plain and simple. This is very interesting because the way politics SHOULD work is the candidate with the most over all ideas should be the one walking into the oval office after the election, but in this article Douthat states that the general public is so focused on the unemployment rate and every little change in it that all other aspects or Romney’s and Obama’s campaign seems irrelative and uninformative. The author supports his claims by introducing the article with him having a meeting with a Junior White House Official and states what they talked about, which was almost exclusively about the unemployment rate.
